Since my business cards have my old email address on them, some folks are still trying to reach me that way, but I do not get those emails. PLEASE ONLY CONTACT ME AT LAUGHINGDAKINI@TWC.COM and not my old email address which is still on some of the business cards. The current one gets checked every day. Any other email is no longer current for me and I can’t access them.
I spent this past Thursday through Sunday at The Tarot School’s Readers Studio in NYC, created by the wonderful Ruth Ann and Wald Amberstone with Lelia and Irene, who were all in attendance. It was so great to see old friends and to spend time with and learn from many excellent teachers and authors, as well as from many ‘plain old folks’, those of us who are not in those official big-cheese categories. Main speakers included Rana George, Heatherleigh Navarre, Carrie Paris, George Koury, Sasha Graham, and Ethony, who all gave great presentations and were available all weekend to chat with and get insights from. Since I am not a selfie person, I didn’t wind up in many of those, but there are many lovely photos online about the event. I also had an opportunity to get a really great private reading from Gina Thies, whom I love. It was very worthwhile and highly recommended. It was also so great to spend time with folks like Beth Owl’s Daughter whom I usually know through her great blog, and Sheilaa Hite whose work I love and whom I have had some great times dancing with in past years. Local luminary Robert M. Place was in attendance with his scholarly and beautiful art, decks, and books, and there were maybe 250 more folks whose names I will not glaringly name-drop here, since I either spent little time with them or they are private folks.
Most exciting for me now is that my book is really coming along, and there is interest from at least one publisher, so I am thrilled and have incentive to keep working on it hours and hours a day, which I am doing. A little support group of published authors led by Kooch N. Daniels and her husband Victor Daniels and including a few of us who are unpublished was started, and now it feels great to have some support plus some accountability. I’ll keep you posted!
I am offering half price on readings for the rest of April at my Woodstock NY office for new clients or those who have not been by for a while. I will be away for a few days at the big national Tarot School Readers Studio conference at the end of the month.
When I prepared the candle for a clients’ system today (3/25/19), it felt so frantic energetically that it almost gave me convulsions so I chose a mellow pale yellow candle to express the energy peacefully and it felt much better by the time it was finished. Email exchange used with permission. I wrote initially:
“I just started your candle. What a busy frantic day it feels like! I hope you are well.
Client reply: “I am ok thanks! I am busy though! You’re not wrong! The day has been manic! therapy and then work!
now just home an hour ago, have eaten dinner and am now relaxing and about
to hop in a bubble bath!”
Email exchange yesterday about a candle I burned 3/22/19 for a blind client with a severe abuse history, used with permission. I (Donnalee) experienced the physical feelings myself and wrote:
Trigger warning for question about
They used to pick you up by the neck
somehow into the air? Is that true?
What a scary thing. I hope I am
wrong about that, but it felt like someone
was doing it to me, some sort of being
in the air with some fabric or
something at the neck, clothing or
something tied, so I am guessing they had
done it to you.
The reply from the client:
trigger talk of abuse details given.
yes. that’s true. they would do all
sorts to us. they’d think up things.
picking us up and holding us upside
down in the air was just one thing they
did. holding us with rope or something
like rope dangling us in the air. it
Private correspondence received 3/9/19 from repeat tarot and candle client, used with permission: “Hi. You were right ( per usual!) I recently got a nice offer on a property which I was inclined to accept. You advised to wait and not impulsively grab the first offer as the property was worth more and more offers might be forthcoming.
Look and behold, within two days five new offers materialized, one for thirty thousand more dollars than the original. Your wise counsel to pause and wait turned out to be just the medicine that was needed. Thanks.”
Update 4/6/19: The property was sold yesterday for 15% more (an additional $30,000.00) more than the first offer received, and the client is thrilled.
Here’s a chance to get a series of four candles at (perhaps!) a reduced price–bids are starting at $15.00 (as opposed to the usual $54.00) in the silent auction for the annual gala fundraiser for Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center. The link for all the auction items is here https://e.givesmart.com/events/caQ/i/ and bidding starts March 1. The Center’s general url is https://lgbtqcenter.org/
NB: They have apparently combined this with another actual physical candle which is another auction item, and they are now together under the heading something like “light a candle”. In a way, it’s an even better deal, since the winner gets my services plus another large nice candle!
