I spent this past Thursday through Sunday at The Tarot School’s Readers Studio in NYC, created by the wonderful Ruth Ann and Wald Amberstone with Lelia and Irene, who were all in attendance. It was so great to see old friends and to spend time with and learn from many excellent teachers and authors, as well as from many ‘plain old folks’, those of us who are not in those official big-cheese categories. Main speakers included Rana George, Heatherleigh Navarre, Carrie Paris, George Koury, Sasha Graham, and Ethony, who all gave great presentations and were available all weekend to chat with and get insights from. Since I am not a selfie person, I didn’t wind up in many of those, but there are many lovely photos online about the event. I also had an opportunity to get a really great private reading from Gina Thies, whom I love. It was very worthwhile and highly recommended. It was also so great to spend time with folks like Beth Owl’s Daughter whom I usually know through her great blog, and Sheilaa Hite whose work I love and whom I have had some great times dancing with in past years. Local luminary Robert M. Place was in attendance with his scholarly and beautiful art, decks, and books, and there were maybe 250 more folks whose names I will not glaringly name-drop here, since I either spent little time with them or they are private folks.
Most exciting for me now is that my book is really coming along, and there is interest from at least one publisher, so I am thrilled and have incentive to keep working on it hours and hours a day, which I am doing. A little support group of published authors led by Kooch N. Daniels and her husband Victor Daniels and including a few of us who are unpublished was started, and now it feels great to have some support plus some accountability. I’ll keep you posted!
